Chiranjeevi starrer earns Rs 2 crore on opening day.

Chiranjeevi starrer Telugu drama ‘GodFather’ is earning big numbers but the dubbed Hindi version of the film has found few takers. Looks like even Salman Khan’s cameo in the political drama has not been able to pull the audience to theatres.

‘GodFather’ Hindi has found limited takers as it opened with a low score of Rs 2 crore on its first day. The film has fared better in the North circuits, possibly because of Salman Khan factor. While 2 crore is not a bad score for a dubbed movie, expectations were high from ‘GodFather’, since it had Salman Khan’s presence. In South, ‘GodFather’ has earned around Rs 17.50 crore nett from the Nizam / Andhra circuits. The film stands at a total collection of Rs 23.50 crore on its first day.

As rave reviews poured in for ‘GodFather’, Salman took to Instagram to congratulate Chiranjeevi. He said, “My dear Chiru Garu, I love you and I heard that Godfather is doing really well. Congrats and God bless you. You know why, Chiru Garu? Kyuki iss desh aur iss desh ki janta mein hai bada dum, vande maataram.” ‘GodFather’ is a remake of Malayalam political action thriller titled ‘Lucifer’, which starred Mohanlal in the lead role. Helmed by Mohan Raja, ‘GodFather’ released on the occasion of Dussehra.
