PRAYAGRAJ: Two policemen, posted at Civil Lines police outpost in Pratapgrah district were allegedly assaulted by 2 drunk unidentified bike borne miscreants near Sagra slope road under limits of Kotwali City police station late on Thursday night.
An FIR undersection 341 (wrongfully restrains), 332 ( hurting public servant), 353 (uses criminal force to any person being a public servant in the execution of his duty), 504 (insulting), 506 ( criminal intimidation) and 393 (attempt to commit robbery) of IPC was registered regarding the incident.
Complainant constable Harendra Kumar in his FIR stated that he along with fellow constable Surjeet Singh were on their routine patrolling night duty on Thursday night near Sagra slope road when two drunk and unidentified men on a bike intercepted the constables’ bike and assaulted him.
The drunk men not only made an abortive bid to tear the constable’s uniform but also tried to snatch his mobile when he tried to capture the video of the incident. In the meantime, the fellow constable captured the entire incident with his mobile and the miscreants also tried to snatch his mobile.
Miscreants also threatened constables of dire consequences. Kotwali police, meanwhile, said ‘ efforts are underway to ascertain the identities of unidentified persons and action would be initiated accordingly”.
