French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain has said that France wants to be India’s ‘best partner’ in boosting its defence manufacturing. He said that France has decided to share the latest technologies and equipment in sync with the growing ‘trust’ between the two nations. Without divulging specific details, the French envoy informed that French and Indian companies are working together on the ‘equipment of the future’. Not only that, Lenain said that India could receive a chunk of the Euro 300 billion fund under its Global Gateway scheme. The big infrastructure fund is aimed at expanding connectivity including in the Indo-Pacific region and is seen as a counter to China’s Belt & Road Initiative.
