NEW DELHI: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away on Monday, at the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon. Leaders from across the political spectrum, offered condolences on the passing away of the veteran politician.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Mulayam Singh Yadav, as a remarkable personality who was widely admired.

Union home minister Amit Shah said Yadav’s contribution to re-establish democracy during the emergency period will be remembered forever.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh said that despite being in the opposition, he enjoyed warm relations with Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too expressed her condolesces for the departed soul. She said that Yadav’s contribution to Indian politics will be remembered forever.

Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh also tweeted his condolences.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath spoke to Mulayam Singh Yadav’s son, Akhilesh Yadav and offered his condelences.
Former UP CM and BSP leader Mayawati too expressed grief at the passing away of the veteran politician.

Former PM Manmohan Singh described Mulayam Singh Yadav as a leader of high esteem. In a letter to Akhilesh Yadav, Singh described Mulayam Singh Yadav as an icon of the socialist movement.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar offered his condolences for the departed leader. He said that an important chapter in the history of Indian politics ended with the passing of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu described Mulayam Singh Yadav as a stalwart in national politics and an earthy leader of the masses.
