LUCKNOW: All government and private schools till Class 12 in Lucknow and several other districts of Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on Monday, in view of the heavy rainfall warning issued by the Met department on Sunday.
While schools in Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Rampur and Meerut will remain closed on Monday, Agra and Aligarh administrations have declared school holidays on Monday and Tuesday.
The state Met department has issued a warning of moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday in East and Central UP, Bundelkhand, Terai Belt and Rohilkhand areas.
In Lucknow, the DM also directed the health department, Lucknow Municipal Corporation to remain vigilant and advised people to avoid crowded places and dilapidated buildings.
He also issued several helplines – 9151055671, 9151055672, 9151055673 and toll free 1533 numbers for civic issues and health problems 0522-2622080. For any other issue people can contact 0522 4523000.
